# Configure Code Access Groups

Abstract

Product: **Workbench**

### Code access groups

- Code access groups are used to grant access to specific Job Codes, and limit the number of job codes a user sees when they create a req. This is helpful for clients with many job codes. The job code list is displayed in BrassRing based on the configuration in Workbench.
- By default each user is assigned to the **code access group – default**.
- Job Codes can be assigned to groups. The groups can then be associated to one or more groups with specific BrassRing users. BrassRing users can then search through a significantly reduced set of job codes when creating a req. Code access groups are configured on the user account page as they are associated with users.
- Code access groups are assigned in the User Table on a per user basis, allowing each user to be configured into one or more code access groups. The standard code access group that comes with the system allows a user to access all Job Codes. System Administrators and other users can be added into that group as needed.
- To configure Code access groups, the client setting User Code Filtering must be set to Yes. Client settings can only be enabled by Infinite Representatives.
