### Process

#### Enabling the Metrics Dashboard

1. In Workbench, select Tools → Users → User Types.
2. Select the **Edit Type Permissions pencil icon** for the user type to be updated.
3. Select the **Reports 2 Pencil icon**.
4. Select the required **User Types**.
  1. **Metrics Dashboard Access**allows users to access the Metrics Dashboard. User Types that have with only privilege enabled are granted **view-only**access to the **My Metrics Dashboard** and the **My Dashboard Library**. Users are able to change the chart type, update the filters of the visualizations, and get the latest version of a subscribed visualization.
  2. **Metrics Dashboard Admin** grants the user type ADMIN access to the dashboards. Admin users see the fields that their user type is granted access for. This is for security reasons, since fields are both displayed and results are generated for those fields. The **Metrics Dashboard Access** privilege must be enabled to enable the Metrics Dashboard Admin privilege. Selecting the **Metrics Dashboard Admin** privilege automatically enables the **Metrics Dashboard User – Allow Edits** privilege.
  3. **Metrics Dashboard User - Allow Edits** grants the user type edit access to the dashboard visualizations. All Admins are automatically assigned edit access. The **Metrics Dashboard Access**privilege must be enabled to enable the **Metrics Dashboard Admin** privilege.
5. Select **Save**.
6. Select **Close**.

#### Add a Candidate Form or Field to the Metrics Dashboard

Forms and form fields must be made searchable and outputtable to pull into the Metrics Dashboard. After the field is made searchable and outputtable, the hourly data refresh must occur before the data is viewable within the visualizations. Fields should be immediately available, however the visualization might display blank until the next hourly refresh occurs.

1. In Workbench, select Tools → Forms → Candidate Forms.
2. Select the **Edit Form Attributes pencil icon**.
3. Select the appropriate user types in the **Search and Output fields**. To select multiple user types, hold **CTRL**and select the user types.
4. Select **Save**.
5. Select the **Administer Form Fields icon**.
6. Select the **Edit field attributes pencil icon** for the field to add to the Metrics Dashboard.
7. Select **Save and Continue**.
8. Select **Yes**for the **Searchable?** field.
9. Select **Yes**for the **Outputable?** field.
10. Select the **Enable Search & Output check box**.
11. Select **Save**.

#### Map User Types to Personas

To ensure that your users have access to the correct set of visualizations in their My Dashboard Library, please make sure your organization’s User Types are mapped to the appropriate Persona Group. Personas were introduced to the BrassRing Responsive User Interface in July of 2017.

More information about Persona Groups, see [Persona Group Management](/v1/docs/persona-group-management) and [User Interface Configuration](/v1/docs/user-interface-configuration).
