Data Insight Tool

Enables the BrassRing Data Insight Tool (DIT). This is BrassRings ad hoc reporting tool and gives clients maximum flexibility to create and schedule report templates to extract data, while maintaining data privacy and security by granting user role access.

Data Insight Tool - Display form field name

Allows clients to display the database field names for custom fields and or instead of, the labels in Filter, Security, and Output settings. This allows Data Insight Tool users to distinguish between form fields with the same labels or display names, avoiding inefficient, repetitive report generation that is formerly needed sometimes to identify required fields.

Options: (single select drop box).

  • Display name – full display name for that form field

  • Database name – database name in brackets for that form field

  • Display name and Database name – display name and the database name in brackets for that form field

Data Insight Tool - Enable FTP Download

Allows an organization to send Data Insight Tool reports to either an Infinite-hosted SFTP site, or a client-hosted SFTP site. Up to 10 SFTP sites can be added or configured. The list of SFTP sites then shows in the delivery type field of the Data Insight Tool when running or scheduling a report. Selecting Configure opens a new page with multiple fields to configure.

Data Insight Tool URL

Infinite sets the URL on a one-time basis to enable access. Infinite engineering defines the URL for specific environments.

DaysAck

No longer in use. Previously, this setting was used to determine the number of days before which BrassRing would send an acknowledgment for the same submission. The default is 30 days.

Default action for Move/Copy Candidates to Req.

Applicable only in the Classic BrassRing UI When a BrassRing user has selected to file a candidate to a req or working folder, they get the option to Move or Copy the candidate. This setting defines the default action that is selected.

Options: Copy or Move

Default action for Move/Copy to Req – HR status retention

When a BrassRing user selects to file a candidate to a req or working folder, they get the option to Move or Copy the candidate. During this process, they also have the option to retain or not retain the HR Status data.

Options: Do not retain any HR status data, Retain the HR status data, using Move/Copy date, or Retain the HR status data, using original HR status date

Display inactive options in edit mode for Reqs and Candidate forms

With this setting, clients can choose to display inactive options for BrassRing users when they are editing reqs or candidate forms. The user sees the inactivated option that was previously selected.

Display Responsive UI for eLinks

The BrassRing Responsive user interface is displayed for any users receiving candidate form or req form eLinks. This option is set to Yes and cannot be changed.

Display Skills and Resp. fields for apply using

Enables the Skills and Responsibility fields on classic Talent Gateways. This does not apply to Responsive Talent Gateways. Also, enables clients to select the resume input type. Normally, special columns only appear if the candidate doesn’t parse a resume. This option can add the same columns when parsing resumes. Does not work with Gateway Questionnaires.

Options: Profile builder resume or Any resume/CV type .

DisplayElinkLogo

Enables clients to control the branding on forms added, edited, or viewed in BrassRing and by using eLinks.

Released with R13.0: Candidate Forms - Enhancements.

Options: None (default), elink, BrassRing, or Both

Document/email generation - always allow edits

Allows BrassRing users who are generating documents or email, edit a candidate form directly from the Candidate and merge information area, even when no information is missing.

Options: Yes or No

When set to No (default):

  • The Edit link does not display for any rows where merge field data are not missing.

  • The Edit link displays for rows where merge field data from all sources are missing (the classic behavior).

  • The Refresh button does not display.

When set to Yes:

  • The Edit link displays for any Candidate form rows where merge field data are not missing.

  • The Edit link displays for rows where merge field data from all sources are missing, the classic behavior.

  • The Refresh button displays on the Candidate and merge information area of the page.

Dropbox Access for Mobile

Enables Dropbox for the Talent Gateways. This allows candidates to access or use their resume from their Dropbox account.

Options: Yes or No

Prerequisites: Social Media integration is enabled and LinkedIn is selected on the [TG Configuration] page on Workbench. Also, clients must obtain APP key and Secret key from Dropbox.

Elink approval - Display hyperlink and text

Enables the users to view the req and approve it on mobile devices. After this setting is enabled, the email content that is generated for req approvals on mobile devices contains more ways to access the eLinked req.

Options: No or Yes

Mobile device approvals client setting should be turned On.

eLink Authentication

This restricts BrassRings users sending eLinks to non-system users. If enabled, it limits eLink accessibility to recipients only. A support ticket must be sent to engineering to enable.

ELink Cc/Bcc

Enables the CC and BCC address field options while sending eLinks for all user types who have access to send eLinks.

Options: No (default) or Yes

eLink talent record - show Respond button

If set to Yes, the recipient of the eLink has a Respond option that allows them to respond by using the candidate eLink. If set to No, the button is removed and the recipient does not see the button.

ElinkComments

Allows eLink comments that are captured by using the Respond button to save as notes on the Candidate’s Talent Record.

Options:

  • Don't save as notes (Default): eLink comments are not be saved in the elink Response section of BrassRing.

  • Save as notes: eLink comments are saved in the elink Response section of BrassRing.

  • Optional: Optional by user; user (eLink recipient) has a checkbox, which is defaulted to No.

ElinkMessage

Allows clients to determine how the links in eLink emails appear.

Options (single select):

  • Body of the message: Hypertext links are in the body of the eLink email.

  • As attachment: Links are in an attachment to the eLink email.

  • Optional (default): Optional by user to send as HTML attachment; the user sees a checkbox that is defaulted to No.

  • Text: Fully qualified URL appears as plain text in the body of the eLink email.

Email Notification - move/copy/file to folder or req (& integration update to HR status)

Allows clients to disable confirmation notifications that are sent by using email to users after they perform these tasks in BrassRing. This setting refers only to the auto-generated emails sent when a BrassRing user manually moves, copies, or files a candidate to a folder.

  • eLink blank candidate form

  • eLink candidate form to view/edit/approve

  • eLink Talent Records.

  • Send email communication to candidates.

Options:

  • Yes: Emails throughout the system are sent to users where appropriate such as when filing candidates to folders, Etc.....

  • No (default): No system-generated emails are sent to users.

Email tokens – delete unresolved merge tokens in Auto Send email

Automatically removes unresolved merge tokens from emails that are generated by Automation Manager (AM) or Rules Automation Manager (RAM).

Options: No (default) or Yes

Email tokens - enable Order ID in BrassRing

This setting enables the Order ID merge field or token in the Add or Edit communication template page. BrassRing users are able to create communication templates with the assessment vendor URLs containing a token for Order ID. After sending the email template to candidates from req folders, an Order ID is dynamically generated and merged into the Order ID token. The Order ID corresponds to a combination of Candidate ID and Req ID, enabling a secure transmission of information to the vendor.

Email type configuration

Allows configuration of email types, enabling features such as adding or editing email templates (default text) by email type. For example, types can include: Candidate – eLink Talent Record, Candidate – eLink Blank Form, Candidate – eLink Form, Req – Approval, Outlook plug-in – Interviewer, and Outlook plug-in – Candidate.

Options: No or Yes

Embed URLs

Gives clients the ability to embed Quick Response Codes (QR) or videos in job description fields when creating or editing a requisition.

Enable additional user information merge fields

Allows BrassRing template administrators to add Additional User merge field tokens, for one or more users, to email templates, document templates, and blurbs. Adds the Add additional user information hyperlink under the existing [Merge fields] section is displayed on [Add | Edit] pages for email templates, document templates, and blurbs.

Enable candidate stacking field

Enables a field that is called the Candidate Stacking Field. This field can be added on the Talent Gateway contact fields page. Most commonly this is used to collect an Employee ID but can be used for other purposes. This can be configured and relabeled. Talent Gateways can also be configured to include this field in the Stacking Logic.

Enable CKeditor

Enables the use of the CK editor in communication modules and within the requisition forms.

Enable Clear Formatting with text editor

Adds a link for Text Area fields that can:

  • Clear all formatting except break tags (<br>) which mark the end of a line.

  • Turn paragraph tags [<p></p>] and div tags [<div></div>] into <br>. The end result consists of text and <br> tags marking the end of each line.

Enable confirmation emails for the following actions

Suppresses the sending of the confirmation email in the four workflow scenarios when unchecked:

  • eLink blank candidate form

  • eLink candidate form to view, edit, or approve.

  • eLink Talent Records

  • Send email communication to candidates.

Enable Offer Letter Viewing Restriction

Allows BrassRing Administrators to create document templates with the Restricted offer letter setting, which allows the viewing of offer letters in Talent Record logs by requisition team members only. Adds a Restricted Offer Letter selection to the document template page.

Enable Offer Letter Viewing Restriction

Exerts more control over who can upload and send, view, edit, and delete offer letters. When set to Yes only members of the Req team can view, update, and even delete the offer letter; attach the offer letter to an email, and send the communication to the candidate.

Enable Onboarding user authentication

Allows users with Onboard user type privileges to access Onboarding from the Candidates menu in BrassRing. Users can seamlessly and securely go to the home page in Onboard in a new window, with no need to log in again. Authentication is based on their credentials that are stored in BrassRing.

Options: No (default), KMS, KMS with auto-launch, or 2xO

KMS and KMS with Auto-launch are no longer supported, however the following still applies when these settings are chosen:

  • When set to KMS, user privileges are activated for selection: Onboarding – Hiring Manager access, Onboarding – Recruiter access, Onboarding – Onboarding specialist access. Onboarding is available in the BrassRing Candidate menu if User Type has any privilege noted.

  • When set to KMS with auto-launch, then all functions of KMS is enabled and users are redirected to Onboarding when updating a candidate to a designated HR Status.

Enable Outlook plug-in

Enables BrassRing users to send interview requests to interviewers and candidates from MS Outlook by using the BrassRing application. Allows users with appropriate privileges to download and install this application on their machine and send interview request calendar invites to system users and non-system users. Users should contact their system administrator for installation.

Enable pre-filtered document templates

Enables BrassRing users a means to configure conditions to prefilter document templates before displaying them in the template selection list.

Enable Requisition Creator to Opt-Out from Req Team

When this setting is enabled, the creator of the Req can Opt out of the Req Team. This option is in the form of a new custom req field of type checkbox named req creator not on req team.

Enable Scheduled Process Queue

Enables BrassRing Admin+ scheduled process queue, where privileged Admin+ users can schedule and view status and results of processes such as Candidate record purge or partial purge.

Enable Social Media Integration

Enables any of the social media integrations available for the social media networks selected.

Options: Facebook, Google, Twitter, LinkedIn, LinkedIn Referrals, or WeChat. To unselect these settings, or turn off the function you must turn off the other social media settings that are enabled on the Talent Gateways.

Enable social media integration with Talent Record

Enables to view a BrassRing candidate’s most current talent profile side by side with their most current LinkedIn profile on the candidate’s Talent Record and social media referral email template feature that captures and stores social media source information in the candidate’s Talent Record (TR) along with social media source information in Data Insight Tool. Clients need to configure their social media keys that are configured before using this feature.

Encoding of Candidate emails

Encoding of emails, has been split into two different settings so that clients can specify one encoding method for system user email and a different encoding method for candidate email. Controls the encoding of emails that are generated from the Communications Module and system-generated notifications from the Talent Gateway, and anywhere in the system the email address automatically populates with the candidate email, including assessments.

Options: (Single select): UTF-8 (default) or Locale-based

UTF-8 is a locale-based encoding allows international users whose systems are not compatible with UTF-8 encoding, to accurately view all Latin-1 western language emails without incorrect characters appearing. This setting should not be changed until problems with the default setting are encountered. Setting can be done at the TG level as well for TG emails.

Encoding of System user emails

Controls email encoding following scenarios for creating and sending email:

  • Forward by using email

  • Approval routing

  • eLink

  • System-generated notifications from KRB

Options (Single select): UTF-8 (default) or Locale-based.

EncryptFormFields

Enables form field encryption for all forms, excluding Talent Gateway forms, including standard and custom requisition form fields. If encrypted, only text fields are searchable (case-sensitive, exact match). Encrypts personally identifying information such as Social Security numbers. There is a utility for Implementation to use to encrypt data for questions that already have responses.

Options: Yes for all clients and cannot be set to No.

EncryptPassword

Enables Password and username encryption, and enforces these other rules:

  • Length and characters of password (8 characters with one numeric character)

  • Password and username are case-sensitive.

Username encryption is Triple DES and is decryptable, password encryption is a one-way hash, and is not decryptable.

NonEncrypted usernames and Passwords can be encrypted only using Tools → Users → Encrypt Password. This would set the ENCRYPTPASSWORD client setting to Yes and also PASSWORDFREQUENCY to a default of 30 days.

Setting the ENCRYPTPASSWORD to YES from Admin → Manage Clients → Edit Client Settingsdoes not encrypt users already added. If the value is set to Yes, then it cannot be reset to No.

When SSL encryption is turned on, default for all clients, this setting should automatically be set to yes.

Options: No or Yes

EncryptTG

This setting is the same as EncryptFormFields but just for Talent Gateways. Also includes encryption of email addresses and password for Talent Gateway profiles. Encryption is Triple DES, and is decryptable.

Options: Yes or No (default)

Event Manager - Enable

Enables Event Manager.

Options: No or Yes

Evergreen Req (extended posting and archiving)

After this setting is enabled, it cannot be disabled. Creates a custom req field: Evergreen Requisition. When this field is added to a req and selected during the req creation process, the posting options page automatically indicates that the req will be posted for an undefined period. Further configuration is required to fully implement the evergreen req functions.

FileAttachmentSize

Not in use. Obsolete as of R8.0 and should be ignored. This setting does not do anything as of Release 8.0 and therefore should be ignored. It might be removed in a future release.
