Abstract
Product: Data Insight Tool
Template Security
Data Insight Tool maintains the candidate and req-form and field-level security for form fields that are configured in BrassRing on Cloud. Org Groups and language restrictions are not applied for security.
Only Data Insight Tool Administrators can create Public templates. Regardless of who runs these templates, the system applies the security rules of the user who created the public template.
When a user sends a template to another user, the template that is sent is a separate entity. The system applies the security rules of the user running the template.
User Role security is applied at the template run time. This means you can see all filters, filter criteria, and output fields when creating the template, and your user role restrictions are applied when the template is run.
Form- and Field- Level Security
In the course of creating several different types of forms in BrassRing Workbench, form creators add fields to those forms, and select security settings for them. These fields are found on Candidate forms, req forms, req status change addendum forms, and req Subsidiary forms.
Data Insight Tool users might be able to see and select filters, filter criteria, and output fields for their report templates, but the Hide for these user types settings in BrassRing determine what data they can see in output columns when the report is run. If a specific field is hidden for a users BrassRing user type, they see asterisks in the output columns. Org Groups and Hide for these languages restrictions are not applied for security.
If a candidate form is hidden for a user's user type in BrassRing, they can still select filters in Data Insight Tool, but no filtering is done. All the data is returned but they see asterisks in every column.
Removing Insight Access from a BrassRing User Type
When you remove access to DIT through BrassRing user types privileges, the following rules are in effect for administrative and non-administrative users:
The BrassRing user type that is associated with that user role no longer has Data Insight Tool user privileges.
The users of that BrassRing user type no longer sees the Data Insight Tool menu item in the BrassRing Menu → Reports.
All schedules are suspended for 60 days and are then auto-deleted.
All templates remain for 60 days and are then auto-deleted.
If a Data Insight Tool administrator has assigned a user of the user type to a different Data Insight Tool user role on an individual basis, that individual is not affected. They can still access Data Insight Tool by using the new Data Insight Tool user role.
